Testosterone is considered the male hormone. Rightly so. It is significantly higher in men and women with little overlap, not to mention that a boost of testosterone in the womb triggers the development of the embryo into a boy. It is also considered a performance enhancing hormone. So, let’s review its impact on the brain and behaviour and there are, indeed, some misconceptions to clear up!
