This isn’t the first post you’ve written on the microbiome!
Indeed not. The microbiome is a hot topic in the science community at the moment. I have previously reported on how this affects wisdom, loneliness, and brain development in boys.

The research is showing all sorts of relationships with the gut-brain-axis.

And what does this new research add?
This research from Hannah Laue et al. of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth wanted to know how the role of the microbiome on developing children and any differences between boys and girls.

And what did they find?
They measured stool samples from 260 children at 6 months, 1 year, and 2-years old. They then used the Behavioral Assessment System for Children, which measures a wide range of clinical and adaptive behaviours in children and young adults, to assess their behavioural development.
